“Ramaḍan is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the standard to distinguish between right and wrong” Sura Al Baqarah 2:185
MUNA CENTER OF JAMAICA PROGRAMS RAMADAN 2023 1444AH
We are blessed to have the opportunity to witness another month of Ramadan!
Allah has made fasting Ramadan and spending its nights in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward a means of forgiveness of sins. The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”
Insha Allah we will be starting first Taraweeh tonight (March 22nd) and First Ramadan will be on Thursday 3/23/2023. All brothers, sisters and youth are invited to participate in all our Ramadan activities.
TARAWEEH SALAH
Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever prays qiyam with the imam until he finishes, it will be recorded for him that he spent the whole night in prayer.” (Classed as sahih by al-Albani in Salat al-Tarawih)
This year Taraweeh salah will be led by Hafez Ruhul Amin Khan who has previously led Taraweeh in the USA and Australia. Twenty rakah salah will be prayed everyday insha Allah.
Taraweeh salah will be livestreamed via our Youtube channel and Facebook page.
DAILY AZKAR AND DU’A FOLLOWED BY IFTAR FOR THE COMMUNITY
Every day before Iftar there will be short discussion and du’a.
It was narrated from Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.”
For iftar contribution contact Dr Azizullah (917) 916-4439

QUR’AN LEARNING CLASS
Ramadan is the month of the Qur’an.
“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong)…” [al-Baqarah 2:185]
Join Qur’an class at MUNA Center of Jamaica every Tuesday from Asr to Maghrib during Ramadan.
QIYAMUL LAYL LAST TEN NIGHTS
Last ten nights during Ramadan are special.
The Prophet (PBUH) enjoined staying up and praying on Laylatul Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Whoever stays up and prays on Laylatul Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” This hadith indicates that it is prescribed to observe Laylatul Qadr by spending the night in prayer
To meet the needs of the community we will have special salah during the last ten nights followed by suhoor.
INTERFAITH IFTAR / MASJID OPEN DAY
For our neighbors and community we will host an Interfaith Iftar and dinner. Date to be announced later. Out neighbors will have an opportunity to get to know about fasting in Ramadan and Islam in general. They will also have opportunity to witness maghrib salah.
